Discovering Your Ministry
There are three questions every person must answer if they intend to have a full and complete life:
Who am I?
Do I matter?
What is my place in life?
The first is the issue of identity – Who am I? The second is the issue of importance – Do I matter? The third is the issue of impact – What is my place in this world?
The most important decision you’ll ever have to make is to establish a relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. That answers the first two questions -- you are a child of God who matters so much God himself died for you. Once you’ve done that, the second most important task in your life -- bar none – is to discover the gifts that God gave you and then begin to fulfill your life purpose.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. At LifeChurch, we believe it is one of our primary responsibilities to help you discover your life purpose. Finding that purpose involves multiple elements -- your spiritual gifts, your heart (or passions), your special abilities, your personality, and your life experiences. We call the combination of these elements your SHAPE.
Finding your SHAPE is a process of experimentation and evaluation. Since God made you and knows exactly what He wants to accomplish through you, He has not left you without special resources and abilities to fulfill His purposes. Since the day you were born, God has been preparing you to fulfill a mission only you can fulfill. Examining your past and experimenting in the future will help you discover your SHAPE.
We also want to assist you. We have a team of coaches who will meet with you and assist you in evaluating your SHAPE. We've also developed a few tools. One tool is a Spiritual Gifts Inventory.
